The MGB is probably the most ubiquitous British sports car ever made and remains one of the most popular classic cars. Built from 1962 to 1980 in Abingdon, England, the car replaced the MGA and was MG’s first foray into the now-common monocoque construction.
More than 500,000 MGBs were sold with the majority being exported. Both roadsters and coupes were produced and used the tried and tested B-series engine.
There were three major revisions to the model with the most obvious happening in 1976 when the chrome bumpers were replaced with plastic (but named rubber) bumpers to comply with US legislation.
The MGB-GT Jubilee edition illustrated in this print was built in 1975 to celebrate 50 years of MG, although this was technically a year too late! It was only offered in the home market as the GT has just failed the US emissions standards so was no longer exported. These cars are quite rare as only 751 were built.
An ideal gift or a treat for yourself, or any MGB enthusiast, perfect for the office, living room, den or garage!
