Few car enthusiasts would fail to recognise the classic lines of the Ford GT40. The car was built originally to beat Ferrari at Le Mans after Ford’s failed attempt to take over the Italian company - a battle that was made famous by the 2019 film “Ford vs Ferrari” also known as “Le Mans ’66” in some places. The car succeeded in its goal, ending Ferrari’s winning streak in 1966.. Why was it named the Ford GT40? Because it was 40 inches high!
This drawing shows the car in well-known Gulf livery used in 1968 and 1969 when the car won LeMans and includes a period helmet design with the same livery.
An ideal gift or a treat for yourself, or any GT40 enthusiast, perfect for the office, living room, den or garage!
